Santiago and Valle Nevado Chile

What an Amazing trip over the andes into Chile. I was pasted to the window the entire time and we had our first glimpse at Ancangagua the highest mountain in the western hemisphere. Our bus driver was crazy, and the border took a long time, but we are backin CHile!

It feels good to be away from ARgentina for awhile and we are enjoying the Capital City of Santigo. We rented a great apartment for the week, it is so hip and nice to be self sufficient. The owners are great and have what so many lack here- forward thinking, creativity and quality. We quickly moved in and set off to explore.

The city itself is massive, with tons of moving parts. It reminds us of NYC. I think they vacuum the streets and grease the subway axles every night, everything is so clean and so smooth. They have many US influences-Starbucks, all of the fast food chains and a Hooters? However we had Tele pizza last night which is Chilean but tastes very American. We like this city.
Yesterday we ventured out of the city to Valle Nevado, a ski area near here. IT WAS AWESOME! There was a fresh 6¨and it was bluebird. We rentedsome great equipment, in fact i rented some skis that i have at home. We had a really great day, in fact we were saying that it was possibly one of the best we have had while we have been down here. It is raining here today and snowing big in the mountains! This is CHile we were hoping for.
